Project 6: Chords
This is sadly my last project for music tech. I hit some bumps in the road for this project but was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. The point of this project was to learn about chords. Mr. Rabuse taught me on the keyboard, the basics of chords. So I got a Chord pattern going along created in Sytrus (like always), and then decided I need some drum patterns. I got 3 Drum patterns created by the end, one of which was only used in the intro to kick off the song at a slow pace. Then as the intro continued, I used one of my other drum patterns that had been modified from the first, slow drum pattern. Throughout the song, I used a preset bass synth from Sytrus, and added a one note, rhythmic beat to the piano roll for it. The bass started near the beginning, and then faded in towards when the chords started. I also used two types of envelopes for my chord pattern: the Resonance and the Cutoff frequency envelopes. Towards the end, I made the cutoff frequency envelope drop down to quiet the chords down and make it sort of mellow, while cutting the drums and bass too. In the middle of the song, I used the Resonance envelope and raised a curve to brighten the sound of the chords. Then I ended with a fade out, plain and simple. So there you have it, my last project for music tech. I had lots of fun in this class and I'm glad I went out with a bang.
